Grapefruit Salad with Campari and Orange, The bitterness flavour of Campari combines especially well with citrus fruit. Because of its alcohol content, this dish is not suitable for young children.
Grapefruit Salad with Campari & Orange Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp. superfine sugar
- 4 tbsp. Campari
- 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
- 4 grapefruit
- 5 oranges
- 4 sprigs fresh mint
- Bring 2/3 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan, add the sugar, and simmer until dissolved. Cool in a metal tray, then add the Campari and lemon juice. Chill until ready to serve.
- Cut the peel from the top, bottom, and sides of the grapefruit and oranges with a serrated knife. Segment the fruit into a bowl by slipping a small paring knife between the flesh and the membranes. Combine the fruit with the Campari syrup and chill.
- Spoon the salad into 4 dishes and finish with a sprig of fresh mint.
When buying citrus fruit, choose brightly colored varieties that feel heavy for their size.
